Terms of Service

The short version: Use Snipsmith to capture screenshots for anything legal. If you buy Pro, you get access to Pro features on up to 3 devices per licence. You can cancel any time and get a refund within 14 days. We provide the software "as is" but we'll fix bugs and be reasonable when things go wrong.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Snipsmith browser extension, the Snipsmith website at snipsmith.app, our licence server at licence.snipsmith.app, and any related services (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by an independent developer trading as Snipsmith, a UK sole trader based in Epsom, United Kingdom ("Snipsmith", "we", "our", "us").

By installing the extension or purchasing a Pro subscription, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. Who can use Snipsmith

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

Snipsmith Free does not require an account. Snipsmith Pro is unlocked via a licence key sent to you when you purchase a subscription. You are responsible for:

All payments are processed by our merchant of record, LemonSqueezy. LemonSqueezy handles the transaction, invoicing, and applicable sales taxes (VAT, GST, US sales tax, etc.). Your contract for the purchase is with LemonSqueezy; your contract for the software is with us.

c. Automatic renewal (Monthly & Annual)

Monthly and Annual subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle at the then-current price, until cancelled. You can cancel any time from the LemonSqueezy customer portal (linked from Snipsmith → Options → Pro Upgrade → "Manage billing"). Cancellation stops future renewals; you retain Pro access until the end of the current period.

d. Price changes

We may change subscription prices. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before their next renewal at the new price. If you don't accept the new price, cancel before the next renewal.

e. Device limit

Each Pro licence can be active on up to 3 browsers or computers at any time. To move to a new device, deactivate one of your existing activations from Options → Pro Upgrade.

5. Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase on all plans, no questions asked. Request a refund via the LemonSqueezy customer portal or by emailing support@snipsmith.app with your purchase email.

After 14 days, we don't offer refunds on completed billing periods for Monthly or Annual plans, though you may cancel at any time to prevent future charges. Lifetime purchases are not refundable after 14 days.

You agree not to use Snipsmith to:

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service (including revoking your licence key) if we reasonably believe you've breached these acceptable-use rules.

7. Your content

Snipsmith stores captures on your device. You own everything you capture. We claim no rights to the content of your screenshots, your annotations, or your history.

If you use a Pro upload feature (Imgur, Google Drive, custom URL), you grant Snipsmith a temporary licence solely to transmit that file to the destination you selected. We do not retain a copy.

8. Our content

The Snipsmith name, logo, website content, and extension source code are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. Beyond that, no ownership rights transfer to you.

9. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third parties (LemonSqueezy for billing, Cloudflare for hosting, Google for email, Chrome Web Store for distribution). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. We're not responsible for their acts or omissions.

10. Warranty disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the total amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages (including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption), even if we were advised of the possibility. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (e.g., liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension and (if applicable) cancelling your Pro subscription. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced at least 14 days before they take effect via a banner on the website and, for Pro subscribers, an email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, unless you have mandatory consumer rights that give you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
